*wow*...i haven't blogged in ages...:P been busy...having fun! Guess where i am right now? ;) Give you a clue...starts with an H, and ends with a G...HONG KONG!! Ai ya...this past week has just gone by just like that...:( i miss ppl at home already...for example *ahem*...smiles...*sigh* their march break starts today...it's approx. 12:15pm Hong Kong time right now...prolly will show a diff. time on this thing...oh well. Having lots of fun here though...shopping...insane amounts of shopping...have never shopped so much in my life...laugh...good thing our currency is worth more than theirs...;) hence...more money! *smiles*...but i think it is so fun to bargain with the vendors on the street for a cheaper price on their merchandise...worried that soccer season has already started at school, i dunno if it has...don't want to miss it! Anyways, we are staying at my uncle's home...apparently he is living in one of the richest areas and apartments in HK...btw, he's very rich...so my mom says...i belive her...seriously, money runs through their hands like water....they don't blink an eye at buying very VERY expensive stuff...but, he has the money...still...:P not good Christian philosophy...worldly items...they are non-Christians btw. Been meeting all of my relatives here...my mom has so many! She has 4 other brothers and sisters...along with cousins, my nieces and nephews...woah...tom. there is going to be a huge bbq at my uncle's house...approx. 20 of my relatives are coming...20!! Plane ride coming here was alright apart from the whining baby across from us...i don't mean to complain...but the baby seriously got on my nerves...never in my life have ever hated the sound of a baby until that day...don't get me wrong, i love children...but he was seriously whining ALL the way to HK from Vancouver...that's 19 hours...19. laugh...i have a LOT of patience...HE almost wore me out. Shopping here is great, we're getting great bargains for the things we are buying...smiles...so funny, since they use HK dollars here...obviously...their currency is worth less than ours...so if they are selling a shirt here for $200...it is really only $40 CDN...5:1 ratio...I have tasted so many diff. kinds of food here...it's insane, all my aunts and uncles have taken me to places i would have never really have known if they had not been here to guide us...there was Japanese...sushi (real :)),Shanghai style food, Thai style food, Szchezuan style food, Yum Cha...so many....my uncle's place is like a hotel...complete with fancy doors, doormen, decorations, fountains, clubhouse, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym, squash, badminton, children's playground, and even a GOLF COURSE!! or was it at one of my other aunt's apartment? So many things...and i am amazed...they have servants here...SERVANTS...they are mostly women who are Fillipino...servants...*wow*...even if i had the money i'm not too sure i would want one...i find it so degrading...but, this is modern HK now...if ppl can afford it, they will get one...my uncle has a LIVE IN NANNY for my two younger nephews...she cooks, cleans, babysits...*wow* I've been to so many places already, i'll name a few that i can remember...btw, there are 5 diff. methods of transportation...car (only for the rich...and they usually drive the Mercedes, BMW, Toyota, Lexus), Bus, Tram, Subway, and Train....:P so many! I've mostly been on the subway and car, uncle own's a car...rich remember? Right, back to the places i've been to....well, there's Stanley Park...Victoria Peak (highest mountain on HK island...where my uncle lives...which is insane expensive cuz ppl here think living on mountains is very nice, pretty, and expensive), Lantau island (mountains, temples, airport), Ladie's market, Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple, HK convention and exhibition centre, Yau Ma Tei's Temple St.,etc...so many things to see...so little time..better sign off now...getting late...another day of travelling tom. Thank you Lord for giving me this oppurtunity to visit HK...love You...
