Heh...tried using paint..as u can see...i'm still learning =P *oy* it doesn't do justice to the pics XP They're pics of me and my lil bro when we went to syracuse...Haha...not so little nemore XP So it's now feb. *lol* a month that brings back good and bad memories. Hrmm...this week wasn't too bad, had to write biochem midterm, hand in a frustrating assignment for nutrition, work w/ volunteers at the CEC, and CCF. Got a chance to rents and bro today also...haha, it's kinda interesting and nice to be able to chat through msn w/ them...yay to video conferencing! Lil bro is so good, ian, ur the best lil bro i could ever have ^^ Biochem midterm wasn't too bad...hehe, some of the ques he gave us were fr/ the textbook sample ques w/ answers and explanations, and some were from his test last year that we went through in tutorial...thx Dr. Samis ^^. Honestly, if there was any chance that i actually failed that test as a fluke...i'd cry. Nutrition assignment for NURS100...what can i say? It was so frustrating doing it...*laugh* i think in part b/c i ate all the time and forgot that i had to write everything down that i had eaten >.< *woah* i eat alot...haha. Then we had to use this like 10yr old program called the food processor...ai ya...so frustrating when u can't find the food that u ate in the list they give you...esp since she wanted food fr/ the canadian options...but i'm finally done it! Ack...actually, just part 1 *cough* I hope that was the hardest part =P So ma-fan too...she wanted it in a binder, not duotang or folder or stapled...in a binder, and preferably small too. *smiles* so when i went to gab's house i borrowed one of his...teehee, he'll get it back soon. I should've given her one of my 2" binders =P We find out in our nurs102 class that there are volunteers coming in on fri to the CEC so we can practice our techniques on them...hahaha, remember they volunteered ;P...anyways, so crys and i went to gab's house to practice on the bois. Teehee...b/f we went to their place we went to the caf and took like 12 brownies...*oy* i felt like everybody was staring at us...haha, yes, i'm going to eat it all =P We took the brownies to the bois's place...haha...eating brownies b/f dinner...mmm, good idea ;P So we stayed at their place to practice our nice and obtrusive ques so we would be comfy performing the tasks and asking the ques the next day. Ahaha, my pod group is so funny...i was observing two of my group members fr/ the observation room, *lol* so hilarious...so they go through the movements of the checkup on the volunteer...head- check, ears- check, nose- check...then it got to the mouth- 'check...yup, you look fine sir, mouth in good condition, no cuts, abnormal findings, no cold sores, bruising, swelling, tonsils look fine, nice and pink...yup, you're good'...*lol* then the volunteer guy goes...are you sure? And she goes, yes...excellent checkup...hahaha...then he goes ' i don't have any tonsils'...AHAHAHAHA...me and my other group member in the observation room are like laughing our heads off...like, we have no idea what tonsils look like...ahaha, we were just going through the motions XD He's like ' i got my tonsils out when i was like 5 yrs old' *lol* our prof taught us after what tonsils actually look like and where to find them =P He apparently played that joke on all of the diff. pod groups. *laugh* so we didn't feel too bad after that. Yesterday was volunteer night for cell groups at CCF. Val came along w/ me...yesssss XP We all tried to fit into the KCAC van...lol, the 4 gals had the whole backseat...ahaha, and four guys had the middle seat...ahaha, they had a smaller seat area than us and were bigger in size than us...*laugh*...i wasn't complaining =P Apparently we got there late to the church we were supposed to help, b/c the other cell group helping out had already put out all the chairs, tables and stuff for the event happening at the church. So instead, we went on a prayer walk...i've never done one b/f...so it was really interesting and definitely a good experience. ^^ The church we were helping out at was situated in a place called rideau heights...the houses there are gov't subsidized...alot of the ppl that live there are single parent families, and many of them have ties to ppl in prison...=P remember kingston is also has 8 penitentiaries...and basically all of them had really really low income. A prayer walk is when u walk around the neighbourhood praying for the buildings, ppl and stuff. It was pretty cool, never experienced nething like it. It was definitely an eye opening experience...of course it came w/ the fears...*oy* val and i were honestly sometimes scared when we prayed w/ our eyes closed and backs facing the street that somebody would drive by and there would be a shooting or knife stabbing...errr, mabbe our imaginations got the better of us, but the concern was definitely there...but i'm still here...so conquered that :) The youth pastor taking us around the neighbourhood told us bits and pieces of the diff parts of the neighbourhood as we prayed and walked through it. I honestly never really thought of the ppl living here in kingston...b/c it's always been known as a uni community...where the hub was at queen's. Alot of the ppl there had broken dreams and broken families...it made me realize how much i really appreciated my life and family that God gave me...the ppl there don't really have any hopes of getting a uni degree...they just get by, spending money unwisely. Alot of the ppl in the community are angry and hurt i guess b/c they think that the queen's students don't care about them...they just come to kingston to get their degree then leave...not caring about the ppl who actually live there and helping them. I dunno, it made me realize what the gifts that God gave me, and how i could best use them here while i'm studying here. What can i do to impact the ppl here, and make them realize that God does really honestly care and love them very much. I can see it's very hard to reach out to the ppl here...they have hardened their hearts to the hardships, abuse, and God. And i think i've come to slowly realize that if one of my desires is to reach out to the ppl in romania and help them w/ the skills i have...i should try helping those close to me right now...learn how to reach out. Transformers :D After we left the church we went to dong nai...viet food! Yumm...*lol* basically everybody in that small restaurant were CCF ppl...haha, we've taken over! Ya, it was kinda funny, there were only two ppl at one table not fr/ CCF...everybody else knew each other and were just talking =P The food isn't too bad, and it's cheap too...ahaha, man, i need to eat a large =P Although i know it's gonna take time...i think alot of the ppl in CCF really have sincere hearts after God, and i do look forward to getting to know many of them better...teehee...3 more yrs man! *lol* cars!! ;P So, even though i'm invited to the 'guys only' superbowl partay...pats vs. eagles...who do i think are gonna win? Pats...lol. They've got brady =P *laugh* and i'm looking at his looks...but how he plays...haha, he was compare to montana, football icon, almost at the same level, but not as good XP Pats have won all their games cept for two games...but apparently the eagles have a really good defense...hrmmm...mabbe i'll get to watch a little b/f i go to praise and power =P Ahaha, i'm gonna count how many guys are gonna be there tomolo...or late XP Boys is always a subject for the gals...it's really got me thinking...hard. And all i can honestly say is...'in Your time'. In Your time, Lord, you make things happen...all according to Your awesome Plan. I put my full trust in You, and know that everything You do for me is for the best even though i may not always understand Your purposes and plans at that moment. I've honestly come to treasure the rltnshp i have w/ You...and i think i can honestly say at the moment that i am completely satisfied and deeply in love w/ only You. Only You can make me whole...and i love you for everything You are. I stand amazed =P And i can have definitely learned alot about myself and what i want in a rltnshp now...hard times b/f...but i've come to understand and learn alot fr/ it. Thanks God for the experience...it was good while it lasted ^^ As julie put it...if God has shown me what He can give me in a certain person...how much more can He give me w/ another person that would completely blow me away. Trust, patience...virtues =P Lord, i'm totally in love w/ you...i lay in Your arms, knowing that You alone can satisfy all my desires...you're my Best Friend, Saviour, Teacher, Abba. Abba...Abba...
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and in his good time he will honor you.
