Yeah...i've been listening to them basically non-stop since i heard bout them fr/ a friend...haha...they're so good. *laughs* in part...they have inspired me to take up the violin again and play it just b/c i want to. Just sometimes playing the violin reminds me so much of my fav. violin teacher who passed away several yrs ago...vic pomer...you are sorely missed. I'm seriously considering purchasing their albums and seeing if they hv any sheet music available...haha, of course...it would be best if there was also another violinist, violist, and cellist to play w/ =P.
In other things...been taking a spring course so that i won't need to suffer as much next yr XP. It's interesting...learning bout world religions fr/ an academic scholars point of view. This is how alot of view my religion, my faith...what basis they have for their views. Needless to say, i shouldn't be ignorant of other religions either...never know when the info will come into good use. And i'm finding...i need to know wayyy more bout my faith...not only about the core elements of Christianity...but the historical facts that scholars argue over for each religion. Lol...i'm just freaked bout the tests too...so many ppl, places, times to know...they're all pretty crucial ==''''
Bought gym membership...so been trying to go to the gym everyday for a bit...hahaha...u can actually get the machines u want now w/out hving to really wait for them! =P Mmm...altho i wish they still provided free exercise classes...haha...sculpt yo body ;P And it's funner to workout w/ my housemate...=)
Went home this past wkend...really good to see family and friends who've just come back home fr/ uni and stuff. Altho it all felt just like a blur...i was able to just spend time w/ each family member...hahaha, hv our 'personal dates' =P Got a chance to babysit ma babies again...i love them to pieces...there's something so amazing...just watching them grow and learn...the time i spend w/ them...hahaha, we spent like 3hrs making sooo many diff contruction paper instruments- guitar, egg shakers XD, 6 microphones, piano, drums...lol, they can sing U2 songs! I'm so amazed XD...God willing i will try to be as best of a Christian influence in their life...prayer and a kiss goodnight! =) Many things have changed w/in fellowship since i've been back...it's so diff. In many ways...i wish for ways where i could share my experiences and passion that i've received back in queens. To be molded you need to be like clay...He will make you more beautiful than you can imagine...His finest creation.
Recently watched a movie called "Not One Less"...it talks about a rural school in China where the children are so poor that the parents are forced to send their children into factories to earn money and forego their education. It also magnified the needs of the children in these areas...they are poor. I'm not too sure just how bad the condition is now in China concerning their education system...but it has certainly fuelled a deep interest in going to China to educate the children, perhaps teach them English and show them a bit of hygiene care...*smiles* anybody else interested in going? Tell me! It was a blessing to teach a class of girls about their health...God, please provide more oppurtunities for me.
That's a good question! --> Is envy always bad?
The Bible consistently treats envy as an enemy that should be exiled from our hearts. Envy is a combination of discontent and dislike that leaves us feeling restless inside and resentful of others. If jealousy makes us fearful of losing what we do have, envy makes us spiteful towards those who possess what we don't have (but wish we did).
Not only is envy bad, it's bad to the bone. Proverbs 14:30 says, "envy rots the bones." It eats away at the very core of our lives.
Jesus listed envy as one of the sins that make us dirty inside (Mark 7:20-23). The apostle Paul identified envy as one of the spiritual toxins that contaminate our hearts (Galatians 5:21).
It's no wonder the Bible calls Christians to get rid of it. "Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind" (1 Peter 2:1).
Envy not only rots our lives, it also ruins our relationships. The Bible makes it plain that love "does not envy' (1 Cor 13:4). Envy turns our focus inward (what we want); love directs our focus outward (what another needs). When envy comes in the front door, love goes out the back door.
So what should we do when we are feeling envious? Where do we get the power to defeat the enemy of envy? The Bible says the strength to overcome envy comes from God's Spirit.
When God's Holy Spirit resides in our hearts, He can rescue us from being enslaved to envy. He can fill us with a love strong enough to expel envy every time it enters (Galatians 5:16-26).
How can a person have God's Spirit living inside? In Ephesians 1:13-14, we're told that God sends His Spirit into the life of each person who sincerely trusts in His Son, Jesus.
